A Rainbow of Words

John says to Henry in The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, "A school doesn't need a School Committee. Or Trustees. Or Governors. Or Lumber. Or approved textbooks. All a school needs is a mind that sends, and minds that receive."
Henry answers, "Nobody can teach anybody anything." and John replies, "Of course not. Teach them how to teach themselves" (Lawrence and Lee 25).
Pink Floyd says, "Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall."
What kind of education do you think is best? Can you get the best type of education in a public school?

I cannot honestly say I know what kind of education is the "best."
Can one receive this "best" education in a public school, or in a private school, or even in homeschooling?
I don't really believe the type of education one may recieve depends on which school one may attend, but on your teachers. Many teachers believe they can just teach us facts, and thats it. Simple right? The students of such teachers (even if it is in a private school) are not benefitting from just that. Anyone can tell you facts, but it takes a special type of person to help you understand the world to a greater extent, and the type of world you would like to be living in, and how to achieve that. That special teacher will help students find themselves as members of society, and they'll actually want to learn, and won't simply be doing so for good grades. They will want to learn how they can help make the world a better place; be a part of something bigger than just them.
A teacher that can make their students want to understand themselves,
their peers, their society, and the world better, all whilst actually teaching them the required facts, is best.
